Information

A hybrid photovoltaic system was built in 2015 at a regional airport in Ethiopia, for the production and self-consumption of energy and for the storage of excess energy in a battery system.

Primarily, the Photovoltaic generates energy for the loads of the communications station and for the charging of the batteries.

Secondly, if the produced photovoltaic energy is not covering the loads, then it is possible to supply needed enrgey from the Grid, if it is available, otherwise the installed Power Generation Pair would be activated.

A system designed to meet 24/7 the operational requirements of critical airport loads.
