GLOBAL-ENERGY Solutions Ltd undertook the complete construction of a Leisure accommodation in Toroni, Sithonia, Halkidiki, based on the standards of a nearly Zero Energy Consumption building.

The study was carried out in collaboration with the Architectural Office of Aspasia Taka & Associates and the Technical Office of Fragkidis Theodoros.

The construction of the project was completed in a period of six months, in order to be able to catch up the running summer season.

This is a modern building with comfortable and practical spaces. It was built according to the standards of a nearly zero energy building. Large openings in the South with the addition of movable shades, which allow the necessary sunshine. Planters with planting on the balconies and common areas, which together with the garden and the water element create a microclimate necessary during the hot summer months. The operation of a solar thermal system with a backup Heat Pump for the production of Hot Water, as well as a central VRV system for the cooling and heating of the building are supplied with the production of Electricity from the Photovoltaic Net Metering power of 16.20kW. The installation and operation of a biological wastewater treatment plant feeds the underground irrigation of the garden, which in combination with the restriction of water flow in the apartments achieves the required water and energy savings.
